How did you actually get into cycling – and what does cycling mean to you today?

The fascination for cycling has always been there. But I really got into it through my work, through exchanges with professional cyclists and events like the Race Across America.
Today, cycling is much more than just sport for me: it’s my balance, a real escape from everyday life. When I’m on the bike, I feel free.

Is there a special moment on the bike that you will never forget?

Oh yes! It was during the climb up the Grimsel Pass at a cycling event. I was completely exhausted – dead tired, fog, barely two meters of visibility – and had already ridden many kilometers.
And suddenly, it hit me: my life was going to change radically in the coming weeks – I was going to become a father. That moment touched me deeply. I was moved to tears. It was a turning point in my life that I will never forget.

What fascinates you about events like the Alpenbrevet – whether as a rider or spectator?

As a rider, it’s above all the journey to get there. The training, the preparation, maybe a training camp – it gives you structure, a goal, and stability in everyday life. You know what you’re going out for, even when it takes some willpower.
The event itself is then the moment when you get to put into practice everything you’ve been working towards for so long. That mix of anticipation, focus, and adrenaline is simply special.
As a spectator, you cheer along – especially when family or friends are taking part. And when they cross the finish line and you can share that moment, it’s pure goosebumps. Those are experiences that stay with you.

How did it come about that your company supports the Alpenbrevet – and did you personally have a hand in it?

Our products are made exactly for these kinds of challenges – long, intense efforts over many hours. The Alpenbrevet just fits perfectly. All the better that we can provide our products there.
The connection came through our long-standing partnership with the TORTOUR. And yes – I was definitely involved. You don’t make partnerships like this from behind a desk; you do them because you’re personally convinced.

Why is the Alpenbrevet such a good match for your brand?

The Alpenbrevet is the big endurance event in Switzerland – demanding, authentic, and very professionally organized. That fits us exactly.
As a Swiss high-end brand, with development and production in Switzerland, we see the Alpenbrevet as a partnership on equal terms. The event is a strong fit for us – both in content and strategy. It appeals exactly to the athletes for whom we develop our products.

Whether in training, on event day, or at the finish line – for Remo, the Alpenbrevet is more than just a race. It’s an experience that connects, motivates, and inspires time and time again.
