About us

The Swiss Cycling Alpenbrevet is the most important cycling marathon for amateur athletes in Switzerland and has inspired thousands of cycling enthusiasts every year since it was founded in 1978. With 3,250 starting places available, which are usually filled within a few days, the event attracts participants to Andermatt (UR). A spectacular route over some of the region’s most impressive Alpine passes awaits them there. This classic of Swiss cycling is organised by a dedicated core team of just four employees, who are actively supported by numerous motivated volunteers from Swiss Volunteers during the event in September.
